The Teen Band

The Teen Band leads our congregation in song at the 5:00pm Mass on the first and third Sundays of each month. The Teen Band consists of youth and adult musicians and a teen choir. Our 5pm Sunday Mass features our most contemporary style of music with songs from artists such as Matt Maher, David Crowder and Chris Tomlin, as well as original compositions by some of our own musicians. We also intertwine the great traditional songs of our faith in a modern way. The choir is open to teens regardless of experience, beginning by singing the melody line with the congregation and progressing to singing harmonies and solos according to your skill level and desire. We also have opportunities to train as a cantors.

The choir is open to teens and young adults of all skill levels.  The band consists of teen and adult musicians proficient in their instruments and accepts new members on an as need basis. Our instrumentation typically consists of rhythm and lead guitar, bass, drums and keyboard/piano.

We pray together, encourage each other and learn about music, our faith and the liturgy. This is a wonderful place to make friends, grow in your faith and share the joys of music!

How to get Involved

We rehearse weekly on Thursday evenings.

  • The musicians rehearse from 6:00 – 7:30.
  • The choir rehearses from 7:00-8:30.

On Sundays we meet at 4:00 to run through our material before Mass. We roughly follow a yearly school schedule and ask that prospective members commit to singing or playing for one semester. We ask all prospective members to audition for placement. All skill levels are welcome, the audition is so that we can assess ability, experience and vocal range to allow us to place each vocalist where they can be the most successful.
