Father Wayne Dawson
Father Wayne has been at Saint Joseph’s since July 2012. Father Wayne has made it a top priority to bring the Saint Joseph’s Community closer to the Eucharist since his arrival. Father Wayne’s inviting style has brought a new sense of community to the Saint Joseph’s Parish. He was recently quoted in the Santa Cruz Sentinel saying “People with different interests need to engage one another and carefully listen to one another to achieve some understanding of how we can move forward.” (Read Full Article)
Those who attend Father Wayne’s services will often hear him say “All FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL.” Those who have had the pleasure to meet him will confirm that this is his true belief.
Father Wayne Dawson was born in South Africa. He recently a citizen of the United States in the summer of 2013. His twin brother Ivan is also a Catholic Priest. Father Wayne and Ivan are one of 7 pairs of twins who are Catholic Priests in the world.
Socorro Wallace is Father Wayne Dawson’s assistant. She manages Father Wayne’s appointments, Mass calendar, church calendar and phone calls. Socorro works with families to plan funerals and weddings.
Socorro is retired from State government and now working full time at St. Joseph’s Church.
She has two children that are married and has two grandchildren. Socorro enjoys spending time with them and traveling with family and church friends.

Youth Director (High School)
Paul Croghan joined the Saint Joseph’s staff in July 2013. Paul is the Director of the Youth program including Confirmation. Paul graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane Washington. Paul has enjoyed spending time over the years with the youth, coaching baseball and volunteering in various Catholic Youth programs.

Pastoral Community Council Coordinator
Jolene has been a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Community for 20+ years. Since becoming a member of our parish, Jolene has been involved in supporting many of our ministries from Life Teen to her role now as the Pastoral Community Council Coordinator. Jolene is married to Jack Smith and a mother of two children and a grandmother of 3. In addition to serving part time as a member of the staff at the parish, Jolene is also the Executive Director of First 5 Santa Clara County.

John Grassadonia comes to St. Josephs with over 25 years of musical experience in the church. He earned degrees in Social Work and Music from San Jose State University in Composition and Arranging. For the last 15 years he has been recording and performing original Catholic music. He has been awarded 6 Unity Awards from the Catholic Music and Video Association which includes the 2008 songwriter of the year award. He is recognized internationally, earning awards in both Spain and Guatemala.
John spent several years traveling with the missionary group from Canada; ‘Franciscan and Friends’. They ministered through music to the people of the West Indies and Guatemala raising money for schools, churches, orphanages, the elderly, the mentally ill, prisons and the poor.
For the last 8 years John has been teaching and directing music for Catholic Elementary K-8 schools, including Good Shepherd Catholic School in Santa Cruz. He also worked as the Director of Music and Liturgy for St. Josephs Parish in Elk Grove, CA. serving over 3000 families.
