Baptism

About

“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission” (CCC 1213)

The Baptism of a new baby is a joyous occasion for the entire family! St. Joseph’s parish family celebrates this with you and wants to help our youngest members and their families to feel very much at home. We offer a class for the parents of infants and young children to prepare for this holy sacrament. The class is designed to provide parents with the opportunity to better understand the sacrament, and to reflect on their own faith as they prepare to celebrate the baptism of their child .

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have  commanded you.” (Mt. 28: 19-20)

Infants and Young Children

The Baptism of a new baby or child (6 and under) is a joyous occasion for the entire family. The St. Joseph’s parish family celebrates this with you and wants to help our youngest members and their families feel very much at home. To this end, a preparation process is offered for parents of infants and young children to be baptized.
